Holiday Gift-Guide: For Him.....

December 7, 2017

Happy Holidays!

It is such a challenge to shop for men sometimes, especially for us women who have absolutely no idea what the male species like. It can be frustrating if you ask the men in your life what they want and they don't even know either.

Well don't fret, my darlings. Again, Santa is here to help you! I have come up with some things that I think are appropriate to give to guys as gifts for this holiday season.

Lets see what's in Santa's big gift-bag....
  1. Cologne
  2. A subscription box for men. This is such a neat idea and I discovered this through a friend of mine. This is perfect if you do not know what to get the man.
  3. Wallet
  4. Belt
  5. Apple Watch
  6. Drones with cameras in it for the tech lover
  7. Headphones, such as the Beats by Dre
  8. Sweaters, cute ones!
  9. Gift cards-iTunes/Spotify
  10. Regular watch

A subscription box for men: what it is- it is just like a beauty subscription box for women where you get different products to try every month; however, some of these boxes have mainly accessories for men and they get it every month as well, which I think it's pretty neat.

Here is a list for the subscription boxes for men....
  1. Sprezzabox
  2. Birchbox Man
  3. Gentleman's Box
  4. Loot Crate
  5. Society Socks

Have a wonderful day!

Gift Guide: for the beauty lover.....

December 5, 2017

Happy Holidays!

Tis the season to give joy, peace, love, and the thing everyone loves but yet somehow seems to dread it a little bit is GIFTS! One of the most challenging things that we all go through during the holidays is buying the perfect gift for our loved ones.

Finding the perfect gift requires much thought and careful consideration; however it is always so difficult to get the perfect gift especially if you're trying to surprise the person or the person has no idea of what they want.

Don't fret, my darlings! Santa (ho! ho! ho!) is here to help you! I have created this holiday gift-guide to help you get the most perfect gift for the beauty lovers in your life!

  1. L'Occitane Hand Cream Bouquet. This hand cream bouquet is a great gift to give, not only does it have cute packaging but it is also perfect for the season, since our hands tend to get drier and ashy. This set is good to give to that one person in your life who always have ashy hands because of their dry skin.
  2. MAC Makeup Brushes. For my makeup enthusiasts, brushes will make a great gift to give. Getting new brushes just excites me.
  3. Bath Bomb. Bath bombs are the cutest gift to give to beauty lovers who are more in relaxation and skincare than makeup. They are perfect add-on gifts to add to gift boxes.
  4. Fresh Lip Set. I heard Fresh has some amazing moisturizing lip-balms. This kit will be an awesome gift for the person in your circle that has dry lips or that loses lip balms easily.
  5. Trinket/Jewelry Box. I love cute jewelry boxes. They add such a feminine aesthetic to your vanity or wherever you store your jewelries. I love how cute this trinket box is.
  6. Eat Beautiful book. I have been into reading books about beauty lately. This is a wonderful gift to give to beauty lovers who are more conscious about the food that is going into their body and how it affects their skin. This book retails on for $27.00, and $30.00 on Also, I found this book for under $20.00 at Marshalls. If you want a copy of this book, I suggest trying Marshalls first before buying it online.
  7. Tocca Perfume. This perfume smells amazing, specifically the vanilla scent. There are different scents other than the vanilla and I love how cute the bottle is and how exquisite the packaging is.
  8. Lipstick Holder. I love this lipstick holder. It is such a cute gift to give to makeup lovers who have lots of lipstick and can't seem to find a way to store or display them.
  9. MAC Eyeshadow Palette. Makeup is always a nice gift to give, especially holiday-inspired makeup.
  10. Kiehl's Skincare Set. I love gift sets or value sets. They are less expensive than the individual products and they are great for testing the products to see  if you like it. If you need a review on a skincare product before purchasing it, check out for more.

Have a wonderful day!

Fall Beauty.....

November 28, 2017

Happy Tuesday!

It has been such a long time since I last posted. I apologize for not posting all this while. But I am back, so expect holiday inspired content soon.

I love the changing of the seasons especially when it changes from Summer to Fall. I specifically adore Fall-inspired beauty looks and outfits. I certainly enjoy Fall makeup because of the beautiful colors of the eyeshadows and all the bold lipstick colors. I have been focusing mainly on shopping for makeup, specifically eyeshadows and lipstick and below are the few of the products.

Here are the new additions to my Autumn beauty cabinet....

  • Eyeshadows from colourpop
  • Dark-plum lipstick from colourpop
  • Eyeliner from NYX

That is it for today! I hope you enjoyed reading.

P.S. Check out my friends store for her new fashion line which is handmade! @lauren_mickayla

Oh, The Joys of Life.....

October 18, 2017

Happy Wednesday!

I cannot believe that I am almost twenty years old! How fast time really flies by(I have almost lived 2 decades). This birthday is a milestone for me because for the first time, I will be away from home and I just feel different than I normally feel on when it's my birthday week.

Oh, the joys of life!

Majority of the people in America put so much emphasis on turning twenty-one (for obvious reasons), but for me, I feel that twenty is going to be much emphasized than twenty-one (one of the reasons being that I don't like odd numbers so 21 just seems odd to me, lol).

Oh, the joys of life!

Turning twenty has made me realize that I don't want to grow up at all! Also it has made me realize the harsh truth, that adulting is hard- especially on days that I just miss home-cooked meals!

Oh, the joys of life!

Also, there had been so many instances and moments that I could have lost my life but I didn't and I am grateful that I am still alive, and that is why I am so excited about this birthday. I can't wait for the little joys, disappointments, hurts, and precious moments that life has to offer.

Stay tuned for a part two of this post tomorrow!

I hope you enjoyed reading this! Have a wonderful too.

My Safe Haven....

October 17, 2017

Happy Tuesday!

There are some songs that when you first listen to, you just can't stop listening and that is the feeling that these five songs ignite in me. For the time that I have been away from home, I have had those moments that my spirit just feels so down, fearful and anxious. During those times, these were some of my go-to songs that I listen to the most. I realized that I would wake up and feel that my heart is singing one of these songs especially songs numbers 2 and 3 the most.

I have found that my safe haven for my anxious and fearful heart is in worshiping my King and just proclaiming His greatness out loud, which always calms my heart and spirit, and gives me peace. Those moments when I just listen to the words of these songs and allow my heart to feel the weight of every word and my spirit to hear the depth of each lyric sang.

I love to worship- it is so powerful! I share these songs with you all (anyone, whether christian or not), and I encourage each and everyone of you that read this post to listen to these songs. No matter what you are going through, just silence your heart and all the tiny or loud voices in your head and just meditate on these songs, and you will see a difference.

Worship Songs
  1. God I Look To You by Jenn Johnson (Bethel Church)
  2. Here Now by Hillsong United
  3. So Will 1 (100 Billion X) by Hillsong United (I like this version here better)
  4. In Your Presence by Jenn Johnson
  5. The More I seek You by Kari Jobe
P.S. Totally unrelated to this post, but I love the movie, Safe Haven (inspired by a Nicholas Sparks book by the same title) with Josh Duhamel and Julianne Hough! It's so good and it's currently on Netflix. Y'all should watch it.

I hope you enjoyed reading this! Have a wonderful day!

My Favorite Places To Shop....

October 11, 2017

Happy Wednesday!

I have been on a shopping spree lately and I am loving it. I haven't been shopping in a long time and this spree is making me so happy. It has been very therapeutic for me after my long classes. Sometimes I get ask where I shop for my clothes so today I decided to share with you all my favorite places to shop for most of my clothes.

Favorite stores to shop...
  1. H&M: This is where I get most of my clothes, from dressy to casual. I love shopping at H&M because I can fit their clothes well. So for all my petite girls, if you are looking for nice clothes that fit, try H&M.
  2. Asos: I also love this place for cute, trendy pieces. Also, they have a nice range of petite clothing, however I can sometimes fit their main collection sizes.
  3. Dillards: This is my go-to store for my fancy dresses. I love their dresses, especially ones by Antonio Melani and occasionally, Gianni Bini.
  4. Topshop (occasionally): I just love window shopping on the site and also their floral, bohemian pieces.
  5. American Eagle Outfitters: I like shopping here clothes that are outside my comfort zone that I can still incorporate this into my style.
I hope you enjoyed reading this! Have a wonderful too.

5 Tips For The Perfect Photo-Shoot.....

October 10, 2017

Happy Tuesday!

I have been blogging for a little over a year now, and it has introduced me to a world of photo-shoots and the behind the scenes work that comes with it.
My first photoshoot that I did was for my senior pictures, and I had so much fun, that I wanted to do it again. My first real photoshoot for my the blog was in December of last year, and since then I have learned many tips from my other shoots that I want to share with you all...

Photo-shoot Tips.....

  1. ALWAYS PREPARE IN ADVANCE. Sometimes it gets difficult to try to prepare for a photoshoot, especially a fashion one, the night before. I usually prepare the night before because I don't do major photo-shoots often, but for the big ones that I do do, I prepare at-least 3 days in advance.
  2. BE STRATEGIC. Know exactly the post that you are doing the photoshoot for. Trying to do a photoshoot for a post that you haven't taught off can be challenging and frustrating.
  3. BE CONFIDENT in your poses. Try out new poses. If you don't like them, then change them. If you don't feel comfortable, then let your photographer know, and then try something different. Always think about what makes you look good in photos - if you like smiling, and you think you look beautiful and also feel beautiful, then smile until your teeth falls out.
  4. CHOOSE YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER WISELY. It is so important the people that you work with. Choose the photographer that will let you be yourself, and yet still guide you. Also, choose your photographers based on their strength.
  5. HAVE FUN. The most important thing that I have learned from my photoshoots so far is to have fun, fun, fun! Don't stress about what you are doing. The most beautiful and timeless pictures are usually the ones that you look happy and look like you are having fun.
That is it for today! I hope everyone enjoyed reading this.

China Glaze.....

October 4, 2017

Happy Wednesday!

I am a big fan of nude and pinkish-nude nail polishes. I have been on the hunt for a beautiful nude nail polish with a slight hint of pink in it, and I believe I have found that color.

The Nail Polish...

This is the Note To Selfie nail polish by China Glaze and I love it. I love how light and feminine it looks on my nails. It has a lighter consistency and it requires 2-3 coats to get the desired the color. However, it glides on so smoothly. It has become one of my favorite nail polishes in my beauty products. The nail polish retails for $7.50 at Ulta beauty.

That is all for today! Have a lovely day.

October Days.....

October 3, 2017

Happy Tuesday and Happy New Month!

It is already October, and I just can't believe it! It has been quite a hectic year so far, from slamming the car door on my finger,  coordinating two weddings, to moving to a new state for school. I am so excited for the next couple months and also for the years ahead. Also, I am excited for this month because it is my birthday month!

Life Update...

Sometimes you never realize how much you need God until you experience some major ordeal in your life. Recently, I had an anxiety attack and this was my first time experiencing it. It was such a scary moment for me that I just wanted to quit everything I was doing and just take a break. I became so fearful of everything and everyone around me and all I wanted to do was to just stay in my room and not go out. The attack was so strong that even sleeping at night was a problem.

"The enemy tries so hard to distract  you from your purpose and shift your focus off God by using tactics such as this"(said by a special friend/sister). So during this time, I had the choice to either let my anxiety and fear consume me or turn to God for help. I picked up my Bible and I began to read; and I began to pray as well, and I realized that the more I was reading and meditating on His word as well as praying, the more the voices of these two negative spirits, anxiety and fear, grew quieter.  I bless God so much for the power of His word and for getting me through this.

Also, I want to take this opportunity to pray for the families of the victims in the shooting in Las Vegas. I pray that the LORD continues to strengthen and comfort the families who have lost loved ones. I pray that the LORD wraps His hands around those who are mourning and I pray that He heal their hearts as they go through this experience. Finally, I pray for the nation of America, that the hand of the LORD will be upon us. That His glory and mercy will sweep over this nation, in Jesus's name, Amen!

That is all for today! Have a lovely day.

Fall Must-Haves.....

September 26, 2017

Happy Wednesday!

It has been a while since I blogged and I am happy to be back. A lot has happened since last two-weeks, and I have officially moved to Savannah for school. Savannah is really pretty but I may not even get to wear my sweaters because of the weather. It is officially Fall, but I don't even feel it because it is above 80 degrees here in Savannah.

However, I am so excited to change my wardrobe and fill it with some cute sweaters and some over-the-knee boots which I am dying to get. So I have come up with some of my Fall-must-haves for all of you fashion lovers.

The Must-Haves...

1&5. Embroidered & Leather skirts: there is this trend that I have been loving so far and that is pairing a sweater with an embroidered skirt or leather skirt and it is the cutest style. So I just had to include both of these skirts in my fall-must haves.

2. Ankle Booties: booties or ankle boots are essential-Period! They are definitely a staple and they go with everything-from jeans to leggings.

3. Cardigan: I love cardigans and how they can elevate a simple, casual look to an effortless, chic look. And the cozier, the better.

4. Cross-body bag: I use to hate wearing cross-body bags because of how weird and awkward I look wearing them. Then, I realize how important and essential they were when I started my senior year in high-school. Now, I hate going out without them and I have one of the cutest cross-body bags and I can't wait to write a review on it.

6. Leather Jacket: I have been wanting to buy a faux leather jacket since last year and I just have to buy it this year. I love how edgy a faux leather jacket makes an outfit look. This is definitely a staple and a must-have for Fall.

7. Over-the-knee boots: I have never been into over the knee boots, specifically the ones with the heels. I just never liked how they look. However, for some odd reason (which I don't mind), I have been loving over-the-knee boots lately. I am obsessed with how they look and how sophisticated they help make an outfit look.

Bloggers Recognition Awards.....

September 15, 2017

Happy Wednesday!

There is this award that recognizes new bloggers and I am proud to say that I have been nominated for the Liebster Award. Thank You so much Niharika Roychoudhury of the blog By Niharika. Please click on the link to check out her blog. She blogs about mom life, relationships, and a whole lot more. This is such a privilege to receive a nomination as a new blogger, and I appreciate the support that new bloggers also give each other. It is really awesome!

The blogger that nominated me, Niharika, also gave me questions to answer and here are those questions:

What inspired you to start a blog?
ANS: I heard about the different opportunities that blogging awarded, such as brand sponsorships, collaborations, and turning it into a career; and as result I started my blog. Also, I had this desire to help women, especially those who have a challenge with being fashionable and attaining a personal style, find their style and be more confidence in styling themselves.

Who is your biggest (present-day, living) influence?
ANS: There is not a specific person that I can think off, however I will say that the people around me have been an amazing support system. They read my posts as well as listen to me talk about the blog non-stop sometimes.

What is the most recent book you read?
ANS: The book of Deuteronomy in the Bible. I just started a new book as well called Never Unfriended by Lisa-Jo Baker.

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
ANS: Rice with grilled tilapia and mango salsa. This food is so good, especially if you get it at Bonefish Grill

What would you say is the most extreme thing you've ever done?
ANS: I can't remember any extreme thing that I have done

If you could sit down and have lunch with anyone from history (living or deceased), who would it be? And why?
ANS: It would be King Solomon in the Bible. Because during his reign, Israel had an abundance of gold, silver, and bronze. Basically, the country was rich and beautiful so I would love to sit with him and have tea and talk about his life, and also gain insights from him, because he was really wise.

What is your favorite blog post that YOU wrote?
ANS: My favorite blog post that I wrote will have to be my valentines day post this year. I just love preparing for it and I enjoyed the photoshoot. It was really fun.

That is all. Now here are the bloggers I choose to nominate:

Christopher James Mitchell
Samantha David
Courtney Klimka
Kenzie Finks
Olivia Rose
Hannah Long
Jessy McAlexander

Here are the rules for the Liebster Award:
1. Write a post showing your award.
2. Thank the blogger who nominated you, by mentioning them and sharing about their blog in your acceptance post. Remember to leave a link to their blog in your post.
3. Answer the questions the blogger who nominated you gives you.
4. Nominate 5-10 bloggers who you think deserve this award.
5. Let the bloggers know that you nominated them.
6. Give them questions of your own to answer.

I give you all the questions that were given to me. Good luck to all of you!

September 8, 2017

Happy Friday!

This year, one of my goals is to do a reading challenge. At the beginning of the year, I started with great zeal but that zeal slowly diminished around March. (Such a struggle!). However, I refuse to give up on this goal, so I am determined to complete this reading challenge to the end of the year.

Since I am not an avid reader, there are some few genres that I actually do enjoy reading, especially practical books. This year, my main genre is Christian books and my main focus is on books that help me connect with God.

I heard about this book, Uninvited by Lysa TerKeurst, president of the Proverbs 31 Ministries, earlier this year. There were just a lot of personal struggles that I was dealing with at school that was related to me feeling "uninvited", which was what prompted me to get this book.

Book Review....

This book is about "living loved when you feel less than, left out, and lonely." It is about giving yourself grace when you feel left out of your friend group and lonely in your life. Lysa shares her experiences of rejection and how rejection affects our relationship with God. This book is also about recognizing the "roots of rejection" and how you can overcome it by feeding on the Word of God and applying the truth in your life, and dismantling the strongholds the enemy has set up in our lives with his lies.

This book is so powerful; it has helped me understand and identify the core of some personal issues that I have in relation to rejection. It has helped me to rely on God and His Word more. This book has also helped me realize that rejection is painful, however I have the choice to let it oppress me or to go to God and let Him help me.

While reading the book, I just felt like she was speaking directly to me, and the words on the pages were just what I needed earlier this year. You know when you read a book and the content just describe exactly what you are going through, that was this book for me.

My favorite part of the book:

The book has some powerful quotes in it that I think are so profound and they resonate so deeply with me. There are so many powerful statements she makes in the book and these are just a few of the ones I love, and my favorite one is number 4.......
  1. "Rejection steals the best of who I am by reinforcing the worst of what's been said to me." (ch.1)
  2. "If you want to know what's really inside a person, listen carefully to the words she speaks." (ch.1)
  3. "The mind feasts on what it focuses on. What consumes my thinking will be the making or the breaking of my identity." (ch.2)
  4. "Live from the abundant place that you are loved, and you won't find yourself begging others for scraps of love." (ch.3)
These statements have truly helped changed my thinking and perspective on rejection. Now I can't give all the details of this book away, so if you want to know more about the book, I suggest that you get yourself a copy. It is definitely worth it.

That is all for today. Have a lovely day!

Just The Basics.....

September 6, 2017

Happy Wednesday!

I love basic t-shirts, whether they are long sleeves or short sleeves. Since Summer is almost over, I decided to stock up on my t-shirts and add some Fall colors in such as the burnt orange t-shirt and also add this year's most popular color, blush pink.

T-shirts are perfect for those days when you want to look cute yet effortless. I love them and they are definitely a staple in my closet.

Stores I shop my basics at.....

  1. H&M: they have some of the best quality t-shirts that are also affordable. I bought the white and black shirts last year and so far, it doesn't shrink when washed. It is very comfortable as well.
  2. Kohl's: they have some of the softest t-shirts ever that are also affordable. I recently just purchased the burnt orange and blush t-shirt and they feel so soft. They also have different colors than H&M does. Nevertheless, I like shopping for basics at both stores.
Stores that I want to buy basics from.....
  1. Asos
  2. Topshop
  3. Zara
  4. Nordstrom

Beauty Haul.....

August 31, 2017

Happy Thursday!

It is officially the end of the month August, which means summer is almost at its end. I am so excited for Fall this year because I get to wear boots and sweater and feel cozy(I can't wait!)

Anyways, let's get into today's post...
To kick off the new month and also Fall, I did some shopping for new makeup products. I only purchased the essentials which are concealer, primer, and a setting spray.

The Products....

The setting spray and the primer are both by Urban Decay and they both come in the same box. I bought the travel size so I can try them out to see how good they are since the majority of makeup gurus rave about them. A full review on these products will be out soon for those who want a review. The travel size retails for $19.

The concealer is by NARS. It is the creamy radiant or radiant creamy concealer. I recently tried a sample from Sephora, but it was the cream version, not the liquid one(photographed above). Full review on the concealer will be out shortly. It retails for $30 at Sephora.

The little brown product is some type of face serum by Bare Minerals and I was actually given a sample size to try. So no, I did not purchase this product.

That is all for today. Have a lovely day!

Daily Word....

Renew a loyal spirit within me."

My Top Lip Product Combination.....

August 30, 2017

Happy Wednesday!

I don't know if anyone has caught on yet, but I love makeup. I think my love for makeup started when I was in 8th grade (I think?!). One of my favorite makeup products, besides concealers, are lip products, specifically lipsticks and lip liners. I don't really have a go-to lip color either because it changes depending on how I feel, what day it is, and the season(weather season that is) we are in.

However, I do own a lot of pink and pinkish nude lipsticks. My favorite are these three lipsticks in the picture above. I usually don't miss all three together but there are days when the three colors look so good together.

The Lipsticks

MAC lipstick...
Color: Whirl
Finish: Matte

Chanel lipstick...
Color: La Raffinee
Finish: Velvet matte

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid lipstick...
Color: Dusty rose
Finish: Matte

The lip-liners are the NYX slim lip pencils from Ulta. They are one of the best lip-liners from drugstore. The names are wiped off on the pencils and I don't remember them(lol).

An Elegant & Comfortable Style.....

August 29, 2017

Finding Balance between an Elegant and Comfortable Style.....

With a packing closet of stuff and still never ever having anything to wear (but not really), we women go through mini nervous breakdowns every single day when it comes to choosing the outfit for the day, don’t we? Ah, first world problems, indeed.
So, where exactly do we stand when it comes to mastering the thrill of dressing up? Hard to tell. However, what renders true is that finding a perfect combo in your wardrobe might be easier than you think, especially if you are going for a mix of elegance and casual. Still, this does not mean there are no rules to follow and that you can just throw clothes together into a weird combo of colors, shapes and patterns and hope for the best. The key to finding the perfect outfit for the day is balance, so let’s explore the idea behind it.
Gone are the days of high heels.....
High heels are a special part of any outfit, and they require poise and elegance to be pulled off properly. However, when you’ve got the personality for it, they can be easily combined with casual clothing as well. Nevertheless, with the hectic lives we are leading today – running around like a bunch of confused hyenas – it’s almost unimaginable to do it all in heels. For this, we’ve embraced flats as our go-to footwear and turned them into a very stylish piece of fashion that can be worn with both elegant pieces and casual items. And how to pick the right pair? Be sure to mind your outfit color. Otherwise, you are looking at a serious fashion faux pas.
Classy is still in.....
Not many dare wear classy dresses and outfits as they sometimes tend to look either too serious or too formal. However, they are timeless pieces you can rely on every time you want to make an impression. Understanding the basic classy styles can help you take it to the next level, and come up with a combination many could be envious of. A sophisticated, yet casual look is great for those who wish to dazzle, but not too much. And, better yet, it means that you are ready for any occasion without having to change outfits. We love that plus size fashion is having a moment, allowing girls of all sizes, shapes and styles to show off their fabulous fashion sense along with their superb fashion taste!
Smart casual.....
There are days when it is hard to decide whether to dress an outfit up or down, and on those days, why not go with both? A silk blouse with suede trousers might be the perfect outfit for the day as it could send a message that you are ready for work but also ready to party. Moreover, as this season is all about ruffles, it is an opportunity to include a blouse with ruffles with a cardigan, and boom ‒ you look smart, but feel comfortable, too.
Mix and match.....
The true beauty of combining elegance with casual is that you can finally have a chance to use accessories which might not go together otherwise. Even so, it is important to keep in mind that there are still fashion no-noes that must be followed, or you might end up looking silly. The art of mixing luxurious and affordable accessories basically depends on whether the chosen outfit is elegant, classy, or even simple casual. Wearing too many accessories will also soften the overall look, which is why it is necessary to keep it minimal but effective.
Your hair is part of the getup.....

No outfit is complete without a proper hairstyle, and that is why hair care is essential. Simple hairstyles are easier to maintain while more complex ones require a bit of know-how to keep them looking great. Using quality products will make your hair look absolutely fantastic, making it even easier to balance out an elegant yet casual style that is sure to sweep everyone off their feet.
