7 Skincare Products to Stock Up on for Spring....

February 24, 2017

Happy Friday!

Spring is fast approaching, which means it's time to stock up on some skincare products. You can either include some of these products into your skincare routine or switch out some heavy products for more lighter ones.

THE PRODUCTS....

1. Beauty Water: this SON & PARK Beauty Water is amazing. It is basically a multi-tasking product: it can be used as a toner as well as a cleanser. I have tried a sample of this and I love how it removes makeup and how it makes the skin feels after. I would definitely be adding this to my spring beauty products.

2. Serum: a serum is definitely a staple to add to your beauty products. It is a great product to use after cleansing, toning, and before moisturizing. It is often used to target specific skin concerns such as wrinkles, dark spots, or to make the skin firmer. I currently use the KLAIRS Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Serum.

3. Nose-strips: if you are looking for a product to help treat the blackheads and whiteheads around the nose, nose-strips are great to use. The Tony Moly Strawberry Nose Pack is perfect for occasional use and it is a 3-step process. I have tried this particular product and I actually did notice that it helped removed some of my blackheads and whiteheads around my nose.

4. Sheet-masks: one of my all-time FAVORITE skincare products that I love to use. I love how they make the skin feel and glow. I have tried a couple sheet mask brands and I love each of them. I have heard that the Dr. Jart sheet masks are amazing, however I have not tried them yet.  They are perfect to use right before any event to give your skin a beautiful glow.

5. Mud-masks: this is one product that I think would be perfect to use during the spring, because of how well it works at removing impurities and leaving the skin soft and bright afterwards. I have tried one of the GLAMGLOW mask (the youth one), and I liked how it made my skin feel afterwards.

6. Eye-cream: eye creams are very essential products to include in your beauty routine. I have been on the hunt for an amazing eye-cream, so if anybody have any recommendations, please feel free to comment. I currently use the Avene eye cream, which can be found here.

7. Sunscreen: this product should be a staple in every girl's beauty routine. Sunscreens helps to protect the skin from the harsh rays of the sun; and from my own experience, they help keep my dark spots from getting darker. And it does not matter the color of your skin, sunscreen is still helpful. I currently use the MISHA Safe Block and it is my favorite yet.

Product Review: Too Faced....

February 17, 2017

Happy Friday!

I finally got my hands on the Better Than Sex mascara (I know I'm late!!!). This is by far my favorite mascara yet, until I find a better one. This mascara is by Too Faced, and I just love the name.

When I started watching youtube and learning how to do makeup, all the beauty gurus on youtube raved about this product. So I put it on my wish-list and I completely forgot about it until last month, when I finally got it (#bestmoment).

ABOUT THE PRODUCT:

I LOVE THIS MASCARA! I just love how it elongates my lashes and I don't need to apply a second coat most of the time. Sometimes, I apply about 3 coats because I just love how it makes my lashes look. I don't curl my lashes at all because they are naturally curled, so this mascara just makes them better.

There is a waterproof version of this mascara in the color green (I think). This pink one is not and I should have gotten the waterproof version, because it comes off easily when I cry or have tears welled up in my ears when I yawn.

Nonetheless, this is by far my favorite mascara yet, and it retails for $23 at Ulta. You can also find this at Sephora and on the Too Faced website.

Product Review: FRESH......

February 15, 2017

 Happy Wednesday!

Skincare is extremely important to me and I am always looking for awesome skincare products that works well, especially one that works for all skin types. I discovered this brand last year, and after researching about the products, I decided to try it, and amazingly, Sephora had the Fresh cleanser and Rose mask as birthday presents for their beauty insiders (AWESOME right?!!!).

I have been using these products since December of last year, and I honestly love them. The cleanser is gentle and it does not irritate the skin at all, and the mask has a strong smell but it works well for the skin.

ABOUT THE PRODUCTS:

The Soy Face Cleanser is gentle and it does not have a strong smell as the mask. It is a gel cleanser and it works great as a makeup remover as well.

The Rose Face Mask has real rose petals in it (LOVE IT!!!). I love this mask despite the strong smell because it hydrates and tones the skin really well, and it is extremely lightweight. It is also awesome to use as a daily mask, and I usually use it in the morning instead of my cleanser. And it does not dry out the skin when used daily. This mask is now on my favorites list. I will definitely purchase these two products again; they work well together.

A Makeup Affair: Valentine's Day Inspired...............

February 8, 2017

Happy Monday!

Valentine's Day is just a week away, and I decided to share with you all my Valentine's inspired makeup look. This makeup look is so simple to create and the best apart about it is how versatile it is. The best part about this makeup look is that it goes well with any lipstick color, such as nude, purple, and red. Enjoy!

I always do my eyes first before I do my foundation.
For the eye look, I used the Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette by Anastasia Beverly Hills. I used the color Golden Ochre as a base and then Cyprus on top. I used this NYX eyeshadow in the shade Fireball.

For the foundation, I used the Lancome Teint Miracle. This foundation is so lightweight and it has such a perfect finish.

For my under-eyes, I used the L.A. Girl Cosmetics Pro-Concealer in the color
I usually apply concealer under my eyes, above my lips, the corner of my lips, my chin, and any dark spots I have. You can get this concealer at any of your beauty supply store or at any drug-store.

Also I usually apply my highlighter first before blush. For highlighter, I used the NARS liquid highlighter in the color Hot Sand.

For blush, I used a Lancome blush, that I don't know the name of.
This blush is a very light-pigmented blush and you have to keep applying to get the color to show up.

However this blush is gorgeous! And the highlighter compliments it very well!

For mascara, I used the Better Than Sex mascara by Too Faced. This mascara is so amazing! It just elongates your lashes and makes them full! It is my new favorite.

For lips, I used MAC matte lipstick, Whirl. This lipstick color is a great nude for Women of Color. So if any of you is looking a nude lipstick, this is a good choice.

I decided to pair this makeup look with this purple lipstick by Lancome in the color.
I love this lip color, it is so gorgeous and it is a non-traditional lipstick color to try.

My last lipstick color I paired with this look was this red lipstick by Stila in the shade Beso.
Gorgeous lip color. I am so obsessed with this lipstick and its now my new favorite.

3 Chic Outfit Ideas for Valentine's Day........

February 1, 2017

 Happy Wednesday!

It's already February! I don't know about you but I am so glad that January is over. Whew! I am so excited for this month, mainly because it's short (yay spring break!) and also because of Valentine's Day! (ahhh!). Although, I'm not going to be able to do anything much.

Since Valentine's Day is less than two weeks away (exactly 13 days away from today, but who's counting?!), I decided to share 3 "non-traditional" chic outfit ideas for a casual date night, ladies night, or just a slightly fancy date, for those of you that have dates planned already! Here are the 3 looks:

 Look 1:

A simple black a-line skirt with a feminine white blouse, paired with ankle boots and black tights. I like this outfit because, it gives you the flirty look which is so appropriate for Valentine's Day!

Blouse: H&M (similar here & here) | Skirt: H&M (similar here & here) | Ankle Boots: American Eagle Outfitters (similar here & here)

Look 2:

This outfit is perfect for a fun-filled night with your fellow single girl-friends. It is always fun to dress-up and have a fun night-out with your best, single girl-friends.

Jeans: Here (similar here) | Off the shoulder top: Here (also here, here, & here)

Look 3:

This last outfit is also perfect for a ladies night-out. I also think this outfit would be suitable for the not-so-fancy dinner date with your boyfriend, husband, or just any date. It is not overly "dressy", and I think it is suitable for people that want to avoid dresses.

Shoes: Shoedazzle (similar here & here) | Blouse: H&M (similar here & here)

P.S. Please ignore the hair! I had hurt my right thumb so I couldn't really do my hair!
