Hello My Darlings.....

One of my beauty goals this year is to purchase lipsticks from luxury makeup brands such as Chanel, Charlotte Tilbury, Dior, Tom Ford, and YSL. Since the ending of last year, Chanel was definitely on top of my list of beauty products to purchase for this year. I wanted to see the hype about the Chanel lipsticks and also test if the lipsticks are color friendly for women of color. I always see reviews about the Chanel lipsticks from women of lighter complexion but not women of color.

The Lipstick:

The lipstick I bought is from the Rouge Allure Velvet collection in the color La Raffinee, and I bought this online at Macy's. I took such a big risk in purchasing this lipstick online without even trying it on in person. I was so scared it would look terrible on me. I am usually skeptical to try lipstick in the pink family, especially the lighter shades. Sometimes they look terrible on me (ugh, the struggle!).

However, I love this lipstick and how velvety(is that a word?! lol) it feels on my lips. I love the color and it looks flattering on everyone that have tried it so far. It doesn't look chalky on me, rather it looks more like a flattering pinky nude. I love this shade and I will definitely purchase this again. Also, it has become my go-to pink lipstick at the moment until I find a better one.

This lipstick retails for $37.00 at Macy's. Overall, it is definitely worth the hype and in my opinion, I think this color looks great on women of color. Also, it is so worth the price because after all, "Lipstick is the most valuable weapon in a woman's make-up kit. It has the power to transform the appearance and mood of the person wearing it, and, at the same time, arouses the admiration of everybody else."- Monica Bellucci
