Natural Hair: My Go-to Hairstyle.....

July 17, 2017

Happy Monday!

Since I got my hair colored, this hairstyle has been my go-to style for school or for any special occasion. It is one of the easiest styles to do and it does not require awesome skills to achieve this look.

This is how I achieve this hairstyle and this can be done on freshly washed hair or dirty hair:

Step 1:

What I usually do is I put my hair in two-strand twists, flat twists, perm rod set, braid-out, or any style that I have time for, and this is usually done on my wash days.

Step 2:

Then on the day of whatever event I am going to that day, or school, I unravel the twist or take out whatever style I did, and then I separate my hair.

Step 3:

Next, I use a pick comb (afro-comb) to lift the roots up to for volume.

Step 4:

Afterwards, I smooth my hair back on the right side of my face using a Denman brush and then I bobby pin until it's laid flat. Optional: you can use edge control or gel to smooth the hair back but I prefer no gel or edge control. I just like how my hair looks without it.

Step 5 (optional):

Occasionally, I will bobby pin the left side also for the fro-hawk look. You can omit this step if you are not into the fro-hawk style.
