Let's Talk Beauty: Essential Oils.....

July 3, 2018

If you don't already know, I am a beauty addict and a product junkie. I live for anything beauty that comes in a pretty package. I have tried so many DIY beauty stuff and have sampled products from so many brands but lately, I have been into a more natural approach to beauty.

Since last year, I have been into essential oils and the benefits they have. As I am gaining more knowledge about the world of beauty, I have realized the importance of the products that I use since everything I put on my skin has its effects. So I have begun experimenting with natural oils and organic products as much as possible to avoid any unnecessary skin problems. And so today's post is all about essential oils, and why you need them in your beauty closet.

Essential oils: what they are?...

They are a concentrated version of natural oils in plants such as lavender, tea tree, peppermint, rosemary, and many more. They are known to have therapeutic effects on your body and they are mostly 100% pure in its form.

They can be used for your hair, skin, nails; as a blend in your diffuser and also for medicinal benefits. To start off my essential oil craze, I decided to buy these four [the ones in the picture] oils for specific reasons to test them out.

I was going through a period where my hair was just breaking off and it was just very thin with no volume whatsoever. I have always had thick hair and just seeing my hair like that made me sad so that is why I began looking into essential oils and how those help with hair.

The Oils...

  1. Tea Tree Oil: this helps with scalp problems such as dryness, itchiness, and dandruff. Also helps with any skin irritation.
  2. Rosemary Oil: this oil gives you a tingling sensation when applied directly on the scalp without diluting it. The number one reason why I got this oil was to help with hair growth. I have noticed that my hair has grown since the use of this oil.
  3. Lavender Oil: it is very calming and helps with acne, stress, sleep. The main reason I bought this was also for hair growth. Lavender is also known to help with hair loss.
  4. Peppermint Oil: this is my favorite oil out of all the four, because of the smell. I love the smell of mint and it is quite strong. This oil is good for cooling the scalp and stimulating hair growth.
These are the four oils that I currently use and I will do a more in-depth post on the different blends that I make to help with hair and skin, as well as with joint and muscle pain relief. I get mine from any store that sells natural and organic products such as Sprouts, Publix, and Whole Foods. And the brand Aura Cacia and Now is really good.

That is for today and I hope you enjoyed reading!
